Sophie Zhou has been creating art for 11 years. She creates art both as a catharsis and to calm herself. This piece was made of charcoal to represent the mask people wear to hide their pain.
Katie Campbell has always had high hopes for her painting, She feels that art means everything to her. This piece is called Frozen Sunset, and blends her love of sunsets with her desire to challenge herself with painting a frozen lake.

For Sophia Mezei, creating art was a challenge because of the difficulty of shading. However, Mezei found that the pen emphasized hair and hands excellently. She derived the idea from her painting after drawing an interesting face in her exhaustion after swim practice.
